PROGOLF TIPS Drive the golf ball longer
The game of golf has seen some of the best players driving their golf ball with such a tremendous power that the ball sails over a long distance before landing magically almost near the hole! Some of the golfers possess that monstrous drive with their golf club, and it looks so easy for them! Many of the can even beat their counterparts in this art of long distance hitting. Some of them can even drove the ball to a long distance of even 350+ yards down the fairway!
When you see those power drives, you might have wanted to repeat them yourself and imagine how well you’ll do in your golf career. Here are some of the power golf tips to master those long, hard, and monstrous drives to send the ball far down on the fairway of those great golf courses, and almost near the hole:
Most of the power drives come from the brute strength of the club plus and energy of the hands. If you watch a master golfer, you’ll see how they hang back their hips till the last minute, only to transfer a tremendous amount of strength and energy into the ball. One good suggestion would be to set your right shoulder lower than your left. By doing so, you’ll shift majority of your weight to your right side and set a clear swing path that finally rises into the golf ball— and it is a must to hit the ball very high and hard. Traditional wisdom tell you that your address and impact positions should match with a perfect harmony! Most probably your hips also act as a catalyst to send the ball to a long distance. As you swing your hips round to hit the ball feel the energy shifting over to your club.
To send the ball to a long distance, you’ll need to set your weight on your back foot. It is a solid position established by adjusting the right shoulder lower than the left and strategically positioning your right elbow inside your left. To hit the ball harder, you need to set up a solid platform. For this you may wish to develop a steady head position. Never let your head shift while hitting the ball and always focus on the ball. Most of us make the mistake of swinging the right shoulder, from the top, across the target line. This makes you miss your target and land the ball somewhere else. However to hit a ball harder you need to swing your right part to your left as you let go of the ball. If your turning is too sharp you may send the ball far down on your left of the body. When the shoulder turn faster than your hips, shots will be misplaced and you may ever perfect this type of shot. To create a brute power, your turn sequence should be hips, shoulders, hands in an orderly manner. The best way to maintain the sequence is to set up with your right arm positioned inside your left. When you do this, you'll establish a power platform and keep that right shoulder from swinging out of turn. Once you have your long game down, imagine the great golf stories you can tell your friends.
Power tips: “On the platform, you may want to feel your entire weight concentrated over your right foot, with your left shoulder positioned directly underneath your chin. With this, you'll not only maintain a tremendous amount of energy but, if you stay on your right side for a long time as you swing the club back on to the ball, you'll give yourself some extra time to square up your face. By this you’ll get more club speed. To feel the energy flowing into your club, practice your swing with a golf ball placed under your lead foot. This consistent drill will keep your body from rotating too quickly. Always anchor your head for a stable position. With a normal head of 14 pounds, when you put it under motion, it results in a lot of force and can move your entire torso along for the deep ride. And when you go forward on the downswing, you'll spoil generating power from your right. Make yourself steady that head and watch your shots go deep and straight.”
