Golf Courses - Random Thoughts

Land is becoming more expensive every day, and the idea of increasing the length of golf courses is beginning to seem absurd. Why is it that many of the greatest championship quality short holes are barely more than 100 yards long? The wonderful seventh hole of the composite course at The Royal Melbourne, for example, is only 130 meters but still one of the most challenging single holes there is. And not to mention the "postage stamp" hole at The Royal Troon Modern have advanced game play to the point where the best of the best are making child's play out some of the planet's most difficult golf courses, especially regarding those of the golf ball and golf club. One could surmise that it's time for the "lawmakers" of golf show to grab their balls and take action. The best interests of both the players and the game is in their hands.
